Early this morning I had an epiphany, a moment of sudden intuitive understanding, about my life. I have often wondered why I seemed to be in a holding pattern. I realized I have been driving the car of my life with one foot on the brakes. There have been periods of time when I would take my foot off and coast and there were many other times when I would simply apply the brakes fully.
It probably started early in life. Imagine back in your early school days when you had an opportunity to meet this boy/girl and you talked yourself out of it. You felt that person would never be interested in you, so you didn't make the effort, and your friends were all too eager to confirm your thoughts.
Or maybe it was later in life and you had the opportunity to go for that new job and you talked yourself out of it. By now you are a seasoned doubter and you don't need any outside force to support you in putting yourself down.
I remember back in the early 90s, a co-worker came in one morning so frustrated because she had created a document and had accidentally deleted it. I didn't get a computer for many years afterward, but when I did, I was always leery of deleting something important. Well, how does that relate to other areas of life?
Somewhere, I read the way you do anything is the way you do everything, and I can see that played out in my life.
Since I was an adult, I have always wanted to be in business. So, I have joined different Multi-Level-Marketing corporations seeking my life's dream of being financially independent. There was one problem. I did not have the ability to recruit people into my organizations.
I would sometimes be talking with someone who might have been excited to discover what I had my hands on, but I talked myself out of approaching them with the same excuses I used back in grade school. They probably will not be interested in joining me, so I would never bring up the topic. I know I am not the only one who has suffered through this, because I see it in the faces of people all the time.
If you are working in a job, or have worked in a job, that did not mentally challenge you or did not adequately compensate you, and you did not do anything about it, then you also fall in my group.
I have put that life behind me now. I am going for my goals in life and now that I realize how easy it is, I am interested in assisting others in realizing their long search for true happiness. I have heard it said that you can never truly be happy in a job that doesn't satisfy you.
So, here's the deal. You were meant to do something specific with your life, yet you may not know what it is or why you haven't pursued it. Let's get together and see how you are thinking about life. Let's see how your thoughts have influenced your life and then work out a plan for correcting them.
I invite you to take my thought assessment. From there we will know which way to go, and if you need some coaching, I am qualified to offer you a way out of the life you are currently living.
I have made it my goal in life to help every Baby Boomer finally become who they were meant to be.
